Currently Untitled“Who am I kidding?” I think to myself, “Sure, just sit down, and write it all out.” What sheer brilliance. I’ve tried to write it sitting there in the library with all the comfortable chairs taken and with my back aching, with my mind buzzing with the senseless chatter of students evading their homework and stimulating my desire to avoid my own. I wrote two pages at the Whately Diner that even then I was certain I would never use while I sipped a free diet coke. (The soda was a mistake, and the waiter, a friend of mine, gave it to me so as not to waste it.)
